BOOK: (Book)
Title: About drawing, projecting. (2012)
  • Author(s): Javier Segui de la Riva.
  • Publisher: Instituto Juan de Herrera, UPM. ETSAM IJH Notebook series.
  • ISBN: 978-84-9728-397-7.
  • Summary: This volume includes a series of articles published in various journals and contains a number of central themes related to architectural work and its institutional pedagogy with allusions to social references and cultures of various kinds. Learning to draw is learning to project and structure memory and therefore learn to be free. This reflection should therefore lead to an analysis of what they want to show and what the drawings show, examining successively: how the dynamics of drawing are, what their intentional communicative modalities are, how drawing and drawing are articulated according to those modalities and, finally, in reason of our didactic interest, which entity and meaning the drawing has in the architectural projective process. This work is an indefinite sequence of not sizing, teaching to draw and projecting, and relentlessly reflecting on drawing, projecting and teaching to draw and project.
  • Abstract: This volume contains a series of articles published in various journals and contains a series of central issues related to architectural work and its institutional pedagogy with references to social references and cultures of various kinds. Learning to draw is learning to project and structure memory and, therefore, learn to be free. This reflection should lead, therefore, to analyze what they want to show and what the drawings show, examining successively: what is their dynamics of drawing, what are their communicative modalities, how drawing and drawing are articulated to those modalities and finally, because of our didactic interest, that entity and sense has the drawing in the architectural projective proceeding. This work is an indefinite sequence of not stopping to draw, of teaching how to draw and project, and of relentlessly reflecting on the fact of drawing, projecting and teaching how to draw and project.
