Title: Nine eyes. (2013)

  • Author(s): Emilio López-Galiacho.
  • Magazine (magazine): Fronterad.
  • Roundup: Jon Rafman is a Canadian artist who since 2008 has been looking at the world through Google Street View. If you discover something you’re interested in, save screenshots that you then expand, print and expose in an open project called «The nine eyes of Google Street View,» referring to the nine cameras that each snooper houses on its mast. As you can imagine, there are scenes of all kinds: banal, sordid, funny, disturbing, endearing, incomprehensible, tragic. You can see many of them, conveniently labeled, on the great website of the Saatchi Gallery in London, where the exhibition was presented last year.
  • Abstract: Jon Rafman is a Canadian artist who since 2008 is dedicated to looking at the world through Google Street View. If you discover something that interests you, save screenshots that then expand, print and expose in an open project called «The nine eyes of Google Street View», in reference to the nine cameras that each car snooping lodges in its mast. As you can imagine, there are scenes of all kinds: banal, sordid, funny, disturbing, endearing, incomprehensible, tragic. You can see many of them, conveniently labeled, on the great website of the Saatchi Gallery in London, where the exhibition was presented last year.
