Title: The cinematographic framing: a study on the limit in two-dimensional composition. (2017)

  • Author(s): Dolores Victoria Martínez Ramírez.
  • Director(s): Atxu Amann Alcocer.
  • Summary: The psychopic, far from being an increasingly obsolete language, today predominates as a mediator of communication in globalized society. It is therefore a language that must be known and revised as soon as it builds our relationship with the world and with others. While semiological studies are quite frequent in this regard, studies through their Morphometry – scientific study of the shape and dimensions of something – as a trigger are less frequent. With form as a premise, this research establishes relationships – sometimes free and disparate – that reveal clues about its also anthropological, sociological and philosophical condition. In other words, through the way as triggers, the intimate relationship of the two-dimensional image with the construction of thought and paradigms prevailing in each age is studied. The doctoral thesis proposes framing-limes as a strategy of approximation to the anthropogenesis of the two-dimensional image. Through building an inoperative visual approach, useless, devoid of history and meanings, he approaches a stadium of openness that can give rise to new meanings, if he is willing not to obtain from this any certainty.
  • Abstract: The scopic regime, far from being an increasingly obsolete language, prevails today as the main mediator of communication in globalized society. Therefore it is a language that must be studied and reviewed constantly, because it builds our relationship with the world and with the others. Semiotic studies are fairly frequent in this regard, but studies through its Morphometry – scientific study of the shape and dimensions of something – are less frequent. With the form as a premise, this research establishes relationships – sometimes free and disparate – that reveal clues about its anthropological, sociological and philosophical condition. In other words, through the study form, it is revealed the intimate relation of the two-dimensional image to the construction of thought and the prevailing paradigms in each epoch. The doctoral thesis proposes the frame-limes as a strategy of approach to the anthropogenesis and the genesis of the two-dimensional image. By constructing an inoperative, useless visual approach devoid of history and meanings, it approaches a stage of openness that can give rise to new meanings if one is willing to not obtain from it any certainty.
