  • Summary: The association of the two terms “space and gender” raises the hypothesis that there is one “space” for the male gender and another for the female gender. But far from the intent of this article is to support the construction of spatial stereotypes for men and women. What interests us is to emphasize the dichotomy and dialectic between two ways of thinking and acting from a particular approach that is space. First, we will examine the western scientific rationality imbued by the idea of dominance that creates spatial logic. Its opposite is the logic of action, a contextual and interpretative logic, not formal or visual, articulated by lived and qualitative temporality. We will associate these logics with the inhabitation and the city and, finally, we will make some considerations about urban planning from the point of view and the use of the city by women.
  • Keywords: Space, reason, power, action, communication, woman, city.
